Description
This course is an introduction to the nursing of children. The course content includes the principles of
growth and development, nursing the infant through adolescence, the behavior of well and sick children
and client and family teaching. The course also incorporates the signs and symptoms of child abuse and
neglect and the role of the nurse as a mandatory reporter. Common diseases of the child and adolescent are
also covered. Prerequisite: All previous term courses. (2 credit hours) (F)
